The Iraqi parliament has voted to obligate the Iraqi government "to work towards ending the presence of all foreign troops on Iraqi soil, according to the media office of the Iraqi parliament.
It's a near meaningless position, but why would CNN soften their criticism of DJT.
Also, Tell anyone that deals with Iraq will not have planes flying into the US...hit them harder...
Does Pres. Trump really care about keeping US troops in Iraq?
The real question will be what happens to the US Embassy there.
The names of those who voted for this would make a good starting point of potential future targets.
And implying this in public would make a good point to them and anyone else who opposes America.
Is the Iraqi government working to end the presence of Iranian and ISIS troops on their soil? Kicking out their liberators makes no sense given that Iran seems to have free reign in Iraq.
Did the Iraqi government just stand by when the US Embassy was being assaulted?
Is the parliament being intimidated by enemies of Iraq?
Good Lord! Seize the opportunity and get out!
Please, please don’t throw us in that briar patch.
I thought the general Iraqi consensus when US embassy was attacked was they were also chanting “DEATH TO AMERICA!!!!!”
Good. Zip it up like a body bag and let these maggots eat each other. MOAB our own embassy and US materiel on the way out. The US, UK, and OZ should deport muzzles back to this rat-infested wasteland as well.
Good.
It’s long past time we left and let them kill eachother.
Now Trump can’t be blamed.
I don’t think they’ll kill each other, but if the Shiite get its way, they’ll know we will surrender and we shouldn’t! I have being there, but I’d rather be there than have them invade us...and with their allies in Congress (Dems and RINOs) they might.
The Iraqi military, much improved since its 2014 debacle in Mosul, can probably handle any ISIS threat. We should hope so because the current government of Iraq is trying to live in peace with its neighbors. Whatever its faults, its preferable to Iran or the old Saddam regime.
I understand what you are saying and can only hope you are right about the qualities of the current Iraqi government.
On the other hand, I cant help thinking that the best thing for US in the region would have been the continued existence of the Old Saddam Regime.
Nobody hated the Iranians more than Saddam did, women had more rights under Saddam, Christian communities were surviving under Saddam and for all his many many faults we had him pinned down by sanctions and over-flights.
For all its problems Saddams Iraq was the best Iraq for us.
Agreed, but keep the oil for the blood that has been spilled over the years
Excellent news! The phrase: “Let them stew in their own juices”, comes to mind...
Note to Iraq: I would support a decision by our CinC to bring our personnel home. But be aware: If you kick them out, you are taking away our chief reason not to nuke you from orbit.
Looks like its time to warn Iranians they have 48 hours to abandon their oil rigs and refineries...
Without even considering how much has been invested in Iraq, should the Iranians be allowed to turn Iraq into a proxy state?
Finally - a sane response...
