Full flight. Do you think anyone would have offered to change seats? I suppose I could have asked my husband or son to trade, but I really couldn’t do that to them.

Something died behind the metal wall of our fireplace and could not be removed without tearing out a rock wall. And it was something large, like a racoon. As soon as I noticed the smell, I began to use the an air purifier/cleaner and I never had a problem. I also use one in my kitchen, as I have high ceilings and don’t have a vent-a-hood over my cooktop. Before the cleaner, my kitchen always smelled like bacon and so did my cabinets. You can get models for $100 - $170 at Wal-Mart.

That’s a really good idea.

I had a minor dust-up with a snooty woman behind me on a flight yesterday. We were putting our carry-ons in the overhead bin, and it was so littered with people’s “personal items” that you DON’T have to pay extra for that there was no room for our two bags.

I LOUDLY mentioned to my (embarrassed) husband, that “people are so rude!”. She snarked, well, I didn’t come on with four bags. I said, “Well, we PAID for that space. Did you?” In the same vein as your suggestion, I should have asked her to pay rent to me for using my space.

"Even if one doesn’t shower for a week taking a wet warm soapy washcloth to the armpits and genital areas would do wonders."

Any brand of baby wipes are also effective with less mess and more covenience, just don't forget the feet for those who take their shoes off in flight. Of course, putting the same smelly clothes back on will negate the effort. Baby wipes are at the top of the request list for Care Packages heading to in-country forward operating bases.

Having worked with a woman whose body order was gag-able for everyone I can appreciate this couple being kicked off the plane if it was that bad.

No. Not even thinking about “trading seats.” Just letting the person who stinks to high heaven know that they are an olfactory abomination.
