America has not declared war since WWII. America has been fighting with one arm tied behind its back since WWII. America has “lost” another “war”.
RIP.
The Taliban is going to take back their country in weeks no matter when we leave, whether it is next week, next year or if we stay another 20 years.
...probably so... that picture of him is as a Staf Sgt (E-6) although the article notes he was an SFC (E-7).also, he is wearing the EIB, not the CIB....not yet seen actual combant...nonetheless, we do NOT belong there...! on Judge Janine last night, Sen. Graham of GA was asked why we are there and he responded so “they” don’t have to be fought here. I was speechless... sounds like the old Viet Nam days... “we have to stop them in Viet Nam or we will be fighting them in Peoria....”... God rest their souls...they died for nothing.....
When politicians determine the mission, we are doomed to fail.
Every war since then (Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan) has been a war of concept; the threat has been too distant and too vague to rally a nation.
(You can just imagine the condescending tone of the politicians: "I know you don't see the threat we face because it's so far away, but we do, so you're going to have to trust us on this and fly or sail thousands of miles away to engage an enemy in a country you couldn't find on a map a week ago.")
No thanks; bring them home. (Otherwise, there will soon be a picture up of a KIA who wasn't even alive on 09/11/2001.)
