I started young too! :-)
Mom and Nana taught me. There was a large Ukrainian population in my area and I fell in love with the embroidery. I made my wedding outfit, and it was done in that kind of motif.

Part Ukrainian here too!
Didn’t do my wedding dress but did my kid’s Baptismal outfits. Major sewing and needle point projects and a Blast!

My husband’s family were from a little village near Kiev.
But I was interested in the embroidery even before I met him.
I am glad I posted the picture because it shows how amateurish and lame the “anti-Trump” embroidery is in comparison to the real thing.
And I’m loving the response! :-)

Lordy!
My Grandpa's family was from a small town near Ukraine during the Bolshevik Revolution.
Shaped my politics forever. The Bolshevik movement came
through and took all their livestock and food while screaming “For The People”
Kamal Harris battle cry. Will never go there.

Well luckily, my husband’s family came to America in 1905. There were other horrors to deal with, but nothing like the Bolsheviks!

In the old days they just twiddled their fingers and toes and made baskets. So I guess this is progress.
