Saw a couple of BTRs in use. Could not see any designations on them. Police or military?
You can’t distinguish between services in such a country. They have ‘old’ and ‘new’ police operating at the same time.
These are most likely a national guard.
I think law enforcement using armor is functionally a military anyway.
Was it five or six years ago when they had their battles in the street? That was amazing to watch it live on twitter and youtube.
It was pretty bloody - on both sides.
One of the rally points was in the central park in Kiev(?) where there is a statue of three people (maybe even one is a woman) and I thought “They look like Vikings!”
Did some research - they WERE Vikings, and the founders of the government in the area, getting the various tribes under one rule. Sailed down the river from the north in their little boats. (All my grandparents were from Norway). Skoal!
Sounds like the Viking blood is still there in their citizens.
I don’t think vikings has something to do with this. It is mostly a culture of people from Western parts of Ukraine. Kiev and Eastern parts historically were more civilized and business-like. Now the westerners occupied the political positions and media and poisoning the environment with their backward hateful approach.
Imagine you knew Americans are in need and has to be quarantined. I guess you’d feel compassion and would be thinking how to help them. These bastards want to burn them alive.
