Thank you for the pings. I have mostly read headlines. Has anything been posted about why it is not infecting the juvenile population?
The real issue is the 15%-20% who need hospitalization or go to the ICU.
WIth the large R0 as it is, that number is enough to crash any medical system.
That, and the absolute train wreck of the supply chain in China right now.
The original SARS in 2007 was also a coronavirus.
They stopped working on a vaccine for it, when the animal testing showed, animals vaccinated, got a LOT worse when infected with a second coronavirus, their immune systems went crazy.
The same thing happens with Dengue fever, and with the virus from Wuhan. You can get re-infected, and it results in massive organ damage.
We need an antiviral. A protease inhibitor. Similar to HIV drugs.
Also, the mechanism for a fatal outcome seems to be a cytokine storm, and that requires a robust battle-hardened immune system. Which isn't something gets in a decade or so...

Yeah that is why I don't like going to the VA hospital anymore, You can't trust them, you never know whether they are going to give you the medicine they say they are giving you or whether they are going to give you a placebo. Same with flu shot and stuff like that, I would rather pay a little bit to get the flu shot some where else then trust my liberal politically appointed prescribe doctor by a swamp dweller Democrat supporter way up the ladder then unknowingly be some Guinea Pig for some experiment the Military is doing.
By the end of the article, we went from “will have a vaccine in 3 weeks” to “we should be able to have a vaccine in a few weeks”.
It is hopeful — but the point here is that they made a vaccine just to prove a concept for making vaccines, they happen to choose an animal virus that turns out to be extreemely close genetically to the Covid-19, so they think they can tweak what they have done easily.
And I’m not surprised other countries can get through testing quicker — they probably don’t allow billion-dollar lawsuits, or have an entire class of billionaires who think vaccines cause autism.
Which is hard to do here because you can’t just expose people to a virus here that could kill them. I’d expect a country like China would be a better bet, as they would have no problem sacrificing their people for a clinical trial.
Even if it works for Israel, our FDA will test it for another year or year and half.

Swine flu 1976?
Swine flu vaccine was approved on Sept 15, 2009. It took months to deploy in quantity. The pandemic was noted in April of 2009. Still not three weeks.
BTW swine flu was noted and mapped for about 10 years before the outbreak. This Covid-19 is still being mapped. Can’t make a vaccine without a map.
Israelis have patents on things up the wazoo. They’re very aggressive.

Look at the date on this article. A “few weeks” should have been up months ago.
