Yes, Freedom of Worship. People are not being forced to go, they can stay at home if they want. The Texas Governor is upholding freedom.
But also remember, the “church” is not a building, it is people. You don’t have to be in a certain building to worship God. You can be at home, outdoors, anywhere.
And Jesus said where two or three are gathered together in His name, He is there in the midst of them.
So even just two believers can be together at home, at the park, anywhere, and have “church” and worship God.
And, of course, even one person who loves the Lord Jesus can pray and worship God at any time in his/her heart.
Cuomo declared his brother “essential”
Well, some governors have the common sense to realize its ludicrous to sic the police on God fearing congregations. Half of the police are probably very uncomfortable with the idea of it. (its the other half that is worrisome)
You could say that about every other business he ordered closed.
Weather would always be a factor. And I’d nearly bet there would be that one neighbor in the church location that would complain and turn them in for worshiping where that neighbor had to listen. People being people...
I LUV our GUV too.
The plain fact that he actually politically sticks up for the things I merely argue for daily is amazing.
The Texas Governor has VERY limited powers under the Texas Constitution. He doesn’t have the legal right to do the “orders” he has in the past and this one is about as legal as those. Not worth the paper they are printed on.
Hey, isn’t it interesting? The left has screamed for years that women have the right to do what they want with “their bodies” and government cannot interfere with that. But, now the same people say they have the right to tell EVERYONE what they can do with their bodies. The hypocrisy is off the scale when you add to that these supporters of human abortion now are SOOO concerned about the safety of people and this virus.
Governor Greg Abbott MAGA Bump!
He is not only one smart dude, but he LOVES Texas!
LA Gov had no authority to shut down that church in Baton Rouge, but he tried anyway.

Our church is doing streaming service. Works just fine & we can sing (albeit some off-key)
True. But it’s still good to see someone standing against the arrest of pastors and innocent people.
At least the TX gov is telling the Gestapo to stop arresting pastors.
In Albuquerque up until about 20 years ago there was a drive in church. A parking lot painted spaces facing a 20 foot trailer. Just like a drive in theater. The front wall of the trailer rolled up to reveal a pulpit.
You sit in your car tuned in on your AM radio.
Actually that’s a pretty good idea for this situation.
“Yes, Freedom of Worship. “
That’s a communist Obama term. America has had freedom of religion for over 200 years. Then the Kenyan moslem changed it to “freedom of worship”. Why?
Because freedom of worship means you can play privately or hold whatever services you want INSIDE your church building, but outside the church the government was hostile to everything religious (except islam).
I try to avoid that freedom of worship Obama term.
About the only statewide forced closures in Texas is Abortion clinics and schools. Try again.
I can’t find a picture of it when it was running. It looked about the way you would imagine from the 1960s. Orderly, reverent, and just a little fun and happy about it.
I remember drive-in theaters... they were always fun for the family.
I was just a young lad in the 60s... but what I remember of it was good.
