"April 1st 2020 — in the middle of the Corona crisis Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, state leaders of USA, Russia and China, surprisingly decided to join forces in a conference call this morning to develop a new blockchain technology based world monetary system backed by gold."

That's some pretty wild stuff.

It's interesting that those amazing quotes from Xi and Putin don't show up anywhere else on the internet.

Did Deming believe things made in China were better quality than those Made in America?

He 'believed' they COULD be; IF they applied the principles he was teaching.

Japan grabbed onto them and LEARNED how to make quality products.

Have you ever heard of NIKON?

So true. It applies to individuals as well; just like MOST of our parents taught us.

(Or tried to!)

They seem to be on a winning streak right now.

Their minion Pelosi is still on TDS wanting yet another oversight committee to see what they can nail on Trump. That witch needs to be kicked out.

Yup. Japanese stuff was junk. Chinese stuff was unheard of because we were in a Cold War with them.
In my recollection, It was during the electronic, computers, phones, flat screen TVs era that it began to change and I believe mostly started with Bill Clinton and companies like Loral that started it. Silicon Valley was happy as clams to have their inventions built on the cheap by China’s slave labor. I’m sure our politicians gladly lined their pockets too.

(BTW I used to fix motorcycles in the 70s. The quality of Japanese bikes were incredibly good. The engines inside were like fine Swiss movements though I still love Harleys)

I have stuff I purchased before the Chinese invasion; and, I can assure that the quality was much much better when we made it. Deming must have an agenda.

Let us take even matchbox toys as an example. My older ones have axles that are four times the diameter as the ones from China. They can withstand being stepped on.

I have a five inch C-clamp in my shop that is made of cast iron with an acme screw. It cost $3.75. Cast iron clamps are almost impossible to find. New tools have rough adjustments, old ones do not.

I lived in both eras, and I purchase for quality, not price. I also have sames of objects from both eras which prove that you and Deming are easily fooled.

Honestly; no.

But; in my defense; I have NO access to what might be considered in a courtroom as PROOF; one way or the other; thus my comment about it being a quote.

False flags abound these days.

Indeed; he did.

Well then; there must be people who are buying for price instead of quality.

The market of you 'quality over price' people must be small; or else your clamps would STILL be made here. But not for $3.75!

In the 1950s and early 1960s stuff from Japan was pretty junky. Their radios took a turn for better quality once they levered their profits back into their engineering. Finally their quality came up across the board. Japanese are very different from Chinese people. Japanese are sticklers for quality while Chinese are all about a profit with little regard for the customer.

The Japanese declared themselves to be allied with us. The Chinese said they would one day nuke San Francisco.

Yes, people bought for price rather than quality. It didn’t take long before our manufactures could not compete using American laborers, so they closed their plants and moved then to China. The American people like to complain about the manufacturing mess they are in, but they MADE that mess.

Quality is rarely available at any price with some goods. That is kind of sad, really.

I just tried 'practicing what I preach' and found just about NO clamps made in USA!

Other dudes are lamenting this as well...

You're probably not going to find a lot of interest, I think Dubuqe Clamp is the last U.S. made clamp company around after Pony went under last year. They can't compete and most people aren't going to pay the prices for U.S. made clamps when they can get cheap Chinese crap for 1/3 the price. I mean, Dubuqe sells a 24-inch pair of bar clamps for $52.95 and you can run to Harbor Freight and get a pair for less than $20. Less if you have a coupon. Are they the same quality? No. Will they do in a pinch? Absolutely. Even Bessey makes their clamps in Germany.

>>Uh haven’t they already unleashed a bio weapon upon US?<<

Perhaps. I would also like to point out, they've released a chemical weapon attack on the U.S. through the Southern border of America by flooding our society with cheap, deadly Fentanyl.

Cartels are assisting the Chi-coms in the transport of this chemical weapon. The cartels are cutting numerous drugs such as heroin, meth and ecstasy with this cheap drug to increase profits.

Dealers and users in the U.S. that previously injected a certain quantity of heroin in their syringe and lived...inject the same perceived dosage and never wake up.

The Chinese communist flood our streets with this deadly drug to create societal upheaval from the cost of medical care, incarceration, policing/interdiction, homelessness, addiction to thousands of deaths of someones loved ones.

China is NOT our friends.

Sadly, it doesn't stop there. Porter Cable power tools used to be top of the line. Now they are made in China, and the quality just isn't there any longer. The new ones are difficult to adjust and the settings move while the machine is used due to vibration. It is even difficult to purchase decent machine screws these days. Local stores have Chinese brands which strip out when tightened, so I must purchase all of my fasteners online.

All of this makes a difference. Tools that expire with use do poor work, and having to repurchase them is a waste of resources, not to mention eventually costing more than a single purchase of quality.

I bought a rabbit plane, which is an expensive woodworking tool. The adjustment screws were malformed, making it impossible to setup for use. The one I received in exchange was just like it. I just made my own screws, knobs, and guide rails for it. Now it works. I didn't pay for a kit, but that is what I got from them.

The most frustrating thing of all is that young people do not know that quality products were once made in this Nation. They assume that this sorry stuff is normal.

Had you read the article, you would have seen that my statement was a tongue in cheek way of saying I don’t believe it.

Too subtle, I guess.

We did this with Japan in 1941 as well. Its in our DNA to not imagine people want to do us harm. BUT—If they attack the Nation will burn with a white hot rage and lots of folks will die. China uses us as a boogie man to get popular support. They have hated us since the day Mao’s son was killed by Americans in Korea.
