Yeah how hard was that - done. Now keep building the wall.
The Silver Lining.
These are NOT emergency powers. They are well recognized every day powers of the Presidency. (Until Trump)
“No more squawking from obamajudges?’
We must remember that ‘obamajudge” is an oxymoron.
This the way it should always be for illegals.
And may we never go back to the old way.
The Democrats ought to like this — no more children in “cages” anymore.
“Some backwater liberal judge is sure to challenge it.”
If that happens, during a national emergency, it will be time for the president to ignore the federal judge’s illegal order. Let the other side take it to the supreme court.
AGREE!
Great comment!
The dead!
We are however still accepting tens of thousands of Mexican and Central American guest workers on H-2A and H-2B visas, in fact the number of guest workers allowed has increased for 220 over 2019.

Perhaps we can get Doc Fauci to illustrate just how much more merciful the Wuhan CCP virus is on morbidity than open borders related morbidity
“If there are no illegals, who will vote for democrats?”
...BINGO!!
DHS Halts Bringing More H-2B Foreign Workers to U.S. amid Opposition
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is halting efforts to bring more H-2B foreign visa workers to the United States to take nonagricultural jobs after mounting public opposition.
In March, Acting DHS Secretary Chad Wolf announced his plan to bring an additional 35,000 H-2B foreign visa workers to the U.S. to take nonagricultural jobs in landscaping, construction, seafood processing, hotels and restaurants, and amusement parks.
On Thursday, DHS officials said they were halting the plan to bring in those additional 35,000 H-2B foreign visa workers due to present economic circumstances wherein 6.6 million Americans have now filed jobless claims in the midst of the Chinese coronavirus crisis.
A DHS spokesperson wrote in a statement:
To clear up various misreporting DHSs rule on the H-2B cap is on hold pending review due to present economic circumstances. No additional H-2B visas will be released until further notice. Per the statute, H-2B allocations are set in consultation with [the Labor Department].
Same old same old.
And make those that have already immigrated assimilate. It takes a generation or two to do and constant pushing from Americans. We've been through this before with other immigrants and I'm old enough to remember how we treated Pols, Italians, Hungarians some Greeks in school. It wasn't always nice, as in what today would be considered completely politically incorrect jokes and general ribbing about accents and customs. It's a form of ridicule, but at the same time it was friendly and there was acceptance because kids made the effort and wanted to be American. They didn't need to give up their heritage. It was wonderful visiting friends and enjoying old country food and holiday traditions in their homes. No one seemed to pressure the parents or grand parents that originally immigrated, at least I don't recall that. But they wanted to be American the most and that's why the immigrated. The kids didn't have a choice in the matter.
Some of today's immigrants may not have the desire to be American. This is where more pressure needs to be brought to bear on the matter. Granted, the picture of what I painted is a bit rosy. I realize that before my time there was massive discrimination against immigrants. The bottom line is immigrants to some extent or another need a little "assistance" (not money) to assimilate.
Do you think the Mexicans are being nice to the gringos out of the kindness of their hearts? The problem wasn't easy to solve. President Trump cut a deal with the Mexican government.
