I ran across an early picture of Nancy Pelosi a while back. She was actually quite pretty back in the day.

I was thinking the same thing. Lots of kids out of “school.” Many are spending time with siblings and parents. Not all of course.
Many parents usually in the 9 to 5 grind are spending most of their day parenting now instead.
I don’t mean to imply that providing for your kids isn’t parenting. I do speak against careerism on the part of moms. Your career is to raise your kids. If you are abandoned and have no one to help well then yes you have to work. I think the church should step in at that point.
Anyway to a large degree I think families are being strengthened too. And we will all be needed to keep each other alive if this insane determination to keep us from working continues.
I predict more like a sifting. Some driven closer together some farther apart.
Same with churches, schools, businesses, etc.

I have this recurring fantasy, and it closely tracks your comment.
Here goes:
Trump declares martial law, leading to a decapitation strike against our nation’s top leftists — representing not only politicians but journalists, academics, and, of course, many Hollywood celebs.
A Nuremberg-type trial ensues. Treasonous conspiracies with Communist China are revealed beyond all doubt.
Being a magnanimous victor, Trump agrees to spare their traitorous lives.
But there’s one condition. The traitors will be confined for life to a penal colony somewhere Out West. They will be provided ample supplies of food, medicine, tools, building materials, agricultural equipment, etc. In short, all the physical assets needed to establish the model socialist Utopia of their dreams.
Initially, this colony gets populated by about 10,000 hardcore Marxists.
Of course, you know how this ends.
After about one year, there are widespread shortages of nearly everything. After two years, hunger. After three years, internecine violence, disease, and starvation has decimated the 10,000 leftists.
A merciful Trump allows the repatriation of a few hundred survivors, who live out their days as street people.
