Yep.
I agree, room and board should be refunded if the students were forced to leave, but if they’re still taking classes, their lawsuit may not work. I do wonder how certain Majors are being handled however. Engineering and Medical students need classrooms, while say, an English major does not.
Hmmm, wonder if it’s too late for Mrs. Prov1322...it’s only been a few decades.
I was thinking exact same thing. I pay a lot of property tax for schools, which are closed. Refunds are due! I bet they laid off a lot of hourly workers, but not, of course, the teachers, who are a protected class.
They will go to Congress to demand reimbursement for lost tax revenues. All the states and cities will, once we’re on the other side. Which is a little bit nuts, obviously, because Congress doesn’t print money they borrow it, and pay it back from the taxpayers - who can’t pay it in the first place!
That is absolutely correct. Any business that opens and has an employee fall ill would be a target for the ambulance chasers. I’ve been concerned about that. Thank you for reminding that a precedent was set for Y2K. It needs to happen here.
My son in law taught 2 classes at USC this semester. When I left LA on March 7th. They had all ready been given instructions to prepare to teach online. He does it, 3 hours, two days a week. Online.
Sure wish my daughter had that instruction. This has been a disaster for her. Total chaos.
Congrats to your Son In Law, he's showing more integrity than most professors (speaks well of you that you raised your daughter correctly).
Wish the Temple professors were into this for more than money and the ability to brainwash.
