And we should bail out Disney and the rest of the entertainment industry. The government forced them to close - this is not of their own doing.

Besides, the government is bailing out everyone and everything and the government can't play favorites.

The government will be bailing out everything from nail salons to Boeing and anything in between.

My brother lives in central Florida and it's a ghost town. There are 75,000 workers just at Disney World. Universal has something like 23,000 workers. The thousands of restaurants, huge hotels practically empty, etc etc.

Is that Disney’s fault? Can you imagine the lawsuit if Disney tried to ban them and not allow them into the park. You do understand this or have you not been paying attention.

How about that? Guess what happens when the government forces you to close down for a month with no known date of reopening and knowing that the crowds won’t return for a long, long time when they do open. Imagine the gall of Disney not wanting to pay employees for no work being done and receiving no revenue? /s

Are they still paying the thousands of H1B’s they brought in to replace American workers?

And? That is irrelevant as to whether or not Disney can discriminate on admitting people to their theme parks/resorts. You should be able to make that distinction.

The rainbow mickey mouse is a completely different issue and I think most all can figure that out. You can do better than that.

Soros and company want chaos, confusion and pain. It makes it easier for them to implement their agenda.

Disney? The one needing thousands of H-1B visa scabs every year to “survive”?

We will have to see if they are keeping the H1B people.

We live in an opaque society so we will never find that out. So assume the worse and they will keep them over Americans.

With one finger of a Google search anybody could see that DisneyLand openly appeals to the homosexual community. They have gay days, they celebrate pride month, Every souvenir shop has plenty of homosexual merchandise to buy. Clearly they can’t keep people out for the way they choose to engage in sexual intercourse, but they appeal to them, and most people get a little uncomfortable when they see a man walking into a woman’s restroom.

You are once again confusing the issue. I know all that - that has been going on for years.

If you don't like it, don't go...I couldn't care less.

This has nothing to do with the fact they are not allowed to discriminate and have to allow people of all stripes and creeds entrance. Good gosh.

I have a minor theme park in Pennsylvania where I can take myself and the children there for around 35 dollars a person. Sure it’s not the biggest and the best roller coasters I could find, but 45 minutes in the car is bearable. Then there’s Six Flags over in New Jersey which was 60 to 70 bucks a day per person as well, Then there’s Disney world that’s hours on a plane ride? Which park do you think I would prefer to go to?

Stopping pay for almost half of its workforce will save Disney up to $500m (£400m) a month, according to the Financial Times.

Disney made operating income of $1.4bn for its parks, experiences and products in the last three months of 2019.

Wait, so Disney parks are making about $460MM a month, yet their payroll is $1B a month? Not including any benefits expenses? How do they afford that? Or the electric bill? Any other expenses?

Um, the States and Cities forced everything to close down. Almost none of that was Federal Gov, so why should FedGov be bailing ANYONE out? What Constitutional power do they have to be giving away freecash to ANYONE? At best, they can halt/forgive tax payments. Much more than that, would require a Constitutional Amendment. But alas, civics was removed from school curriculums decades ago.

If the Cities and States are pushing mandatory closure orders, that is essentially a form of eminent domain. Let them pay the appropriate recompense, not the US taxpayer.

Great points. And the Disney Hotels are outrageously priced.

Disney has borrowed 12 Billion dollars and counting, mostly in corporate bonds, since they shut down their parks worldwide. That’s just to cover their expenses. Thats also on top of all the other debt that they have already. They could a total of 20 to 30 billion dollars in shutdown debt if this keeps going.
