That too.
Usually it depends on the fraction... if less than 0.5 then you round down. Greater than 0.5 you round up.

= = = = = = = =- = = = =
Except for gasoline prices (ONE of the biggest scams ‘ever’)
Gas advertised at 1.099 and we have been conditioned to say gas is down/up to 1.09, when in reality it is 1.10 ala the ‘fraction fairy’...
Just sayin’....
I haven’t seen any threats made against a Mosque for their open services. Those less then brave souls that use the internet to threaten Christians but run with their tail between their legs when it comes to Muslims.
COWARDS.
Yup. The way to mask the cost. It might mean $1, $10, $100. Accuracy is not important here.
Still, if you are working in important measurements, it depends on the required decimal point precision for the item to function properly across its manufacturing process variability.
I used to tell the ‘phone answerers’ that I wanted to speak to the person that gets the last penny out of EVERY dollar.
‘They’ give you’all .99 to play with and only get heard from when that penny doesn’t show up.
Like with the .9 doesn’t seem like much till you count how many .9 are going in one direction on an hourly basis.
Even with these bloated beerflu #s, ‘they’ don’t have the common sense to say xxxxx died from beerflu today and when you throw in the xxxxx that died from other maladies, funeral homes etc are getting overwhelmed.
They just toss ALL the deaths into one pot and it makes one believe there is a ‘bonus’ for reporting deaths.
If it is true that ALL elderly diagnosed with the beerflu were sent to nursing homes etc full of susceptible(in their words) people and then wonder why the #s are going up. If entirely true, some serious JAIL time should be around the corner.
I am older than the ‘susceptible’ age and even older than the idiots that are convincing all that anyone over 70 must be some kind of doddering old fool and am one of those that have NEVER knowingly taken a flu shot (Navy may have thrown it in back in the 50s/60) and have NEVER gotten the ‘crippling’ flu that some people seem to get regularly.
I am thinking that since quinine (or portions thereof) is supposedly a ‘fight against it’, that all those quinine tablets we were given back in the day etc....ALSO, I laid Asphalt for 25 years and maybe all that time ‘cooking’ in the sun has also helped build up a sort of immunity.
I do have enough sense that if I start coughing and/or sneezing or feel ‘deathly’ ill to stay home and if it persists go to the Dr or whatever.
Then again, for the most part I practice the ‘keep your distance from me’ whenever possible so now that ‘they’ are keeping their distance, things are working out...
As MOSES was ‘ordered’ to say:
“LET MY PEOPLE GO”,
If you want to hunker down, go for it, don’t tell ME how to go about my daily business.
Remember starting with mumps/measle/chicken pox etc then on to Polio, I (and many like me) have survived the ‘BIG ONE’ many times.......AND, if it is time to go, well, it is time to go....
0.9 made sense back when gas was 17-25 CENTS a gallon!
Over 2 bucks; not so much.
