Even given the timing, I think Burr is the “victim” of just a straight up investigation, if such things are still possible. Removing him doesn’t help the Deep State except to briefly draw attention away from the Flynn case. The problem is that nobody outside of North Carolina knows who Burr is. They will try to use it that way, but I don’t think that is what’s caused this.

If the furor increases, we will soon have a Democrat Senator instead of Burr. It is going to be harder to get any judges through if this happens.

They might have been looking for “insurance” against him for a long time and come across something in real time. His replacement on that Committee is going to be worth watching. I agree, it all came together really fast which is odd.

Jim Risch of Idaho is a couple of years ahead of Rubio in seniority.

Very true. Not much in Washington is honest. Almost anyone on that committee would be better for the President. That makes me wonder what is coming next.

IQ of a turnip.
Maybe Burr and Linda can start a turnip farm.

Exactly. Burr needs to stay in if one for the judges. He’s been good about voting for Trump’s nominees.

Risch chairs Foreign Relations. Only one ‘major’ committee chair at a time is allowed. Burr stepping aside seems to be temporary. Risch can choose, but Rubio is most likely.

Don’t know anything about Risch, and he might be good. Rubio would be good too... he’s a smart man who is with the program although he comes from a relatively liberal area. Even though he’s a senator, he has to satisfy the liberal part of his constituency who elect him form South Florida and perhaps be less forthright. So I think some of his statements aren’t as strong as they used to be when he was running.

Also, I don’t know what the thing is with Trump. He was very insulting to Rubio, but basically Rubio has supported Trump and his programs here in Florida, and if Trump reached out to him, this could be a really good thing all around.
