And what exactly would the President’s reason for wanting to visit Baltimore on Memorial Day be? Are they going to honor the fallen dead?

Baltimore does have some nice and relatively safe areas.

It's all to serve my crude, harsh humor here. I know all the Dem urban areas have had suburban tax money used to build sports arenas, modern pedestrian and shopping areas and tourist places.

Sorry if you go to such places in Baltimore. No offense intended. I don't ever go to them due to my anti-Dem bias.

I was enrolled in college and delivering campus mail just after the July, 1967 Detroit riots. A National Guard soldier with rifle aimed upward on a 45 degree angle rode looking out from our open mail truck door. "Every time you guys get out watch for snipers. I'll cover you."

My supermarket was pictured later with blackened walls and light fixtures hanging from cables in the ceiling over fire ravaged shelves. I worked and paid taxes for a long time to donate the rebuilding to make the region look better for tourists.

I grew up just outside of Baltimore, went to school there for a couple of years, worked there for a couple of years, and my son currently lives in Federal Hill. Much of my time there was when William Donald Schaefer was mayor. He loved the city and was not as inclined to put up with nonsense as the current crop of “leadership” is. It has never been great overall, but there have always been decent sections. Unfortunately, the Inner Harbor, its former crown jewel, has now largely turned.
