I think it would be difficult for the President to act if the state or local authorities won't. We'll see how long the media stays on their side. My recollection of some of the campus occupations of the late 1960s, three or four days is about the extent of the interest. Probably the food and sanitation as well. Though I've read public sanitation isn't a priority in many west coast cities. And food, since I've already brought up Paris, Christmas dinner from a fine restaurant, 1870. Some good ideas if there's a zoo around, otherwise, dog and rat would be ok.
