Republican incumbent Kenny Marchant has held this house seat since 2005. He won his last election with 50.3% of the vote. He beat the Democrat by 3.1% of the vote.

There are some House races that are so lopsided that the out-of-power party runs a total whackjob because nobody else wants to spend money in a sure loss. I wish that were true here but the data doesn’t support it. I presume Col. Olson is going to use the familiar Democrat ruse of being former military to con people into thinking she’s conservative and steal enough votes from the conservative to win the election.

I’m going to guess most people in this district are smart enough not to fall for this. Suburban Dallas is still a hotbed of conservatism even though Dallas, itself, has been taken over by ‘Rats.
