Shoot the DA
You cannot say the name Paul Howard, DA without stating that the DA stands for Dumb A$$.
He has proven it over and over again.
I thought about this and concluded that if the cop lets the criminal hit him with the taser and is subdued, and the criminal defeats the other cop and gets his gun, there are potentially two dead cops. Is it rational for the cop to allow this to happen?
Why was the guy fighting the cops? Isn’t that a dangerous strategy?
Hopefully, the cops go on strike, one and all.
Apparently the officer just completed (April) training on the issue.

Let's start with training. Escalation training says if someone comes at you with a taser, you are supposed to use deadly force.
Let's move on to actions; man just spent 3 minutes beating on officers to get away, and took an officer's weapon.
Finally, let's talk the moments before death - another officer tried a less than lethal option, a taser, which failed to incapacitate the person under arrest who escaped custody. He was heading towards others after showing a willingness to use any weapon possible to escape police.
I don't know if he turned towards officers or not, honestly, to me, it doesn't matter. Clean shoot.

I see dozens of dangerous drugged out whackos every day. ALL of them are dangerous. My wife and two our our friends have been assaulted by wackos and we are legally not able to defend ourselves.
Police need to take these people out with deadly force if it becomes necessary.

He DID use the taser on the officer!! You can see the officer stumbling into the car right after the taser was fired at him!!
How is a female police officer supposed to make an arrest if the perp can just slap her aside and walk off without consequences? I guess soon it will be a moot question since there will be no more police.
From my understanding, he did shoot the Taser at the officers Just prior to getting shot.
A taser can be deadly and he fired in response to that being fired at him.
A grand jury should dismiss all charges and the cop should file a multi-million dollar lawsuit against Atlanta, Howard, and Bottoms.
Following protocol or not....
As others have said, law enforcement officers can be held accountable and discussed by sober, reasoned debate on a TV discussion panel on Fox, judged as guilty by MSNBC and CNN, and talked about in newspapers and online sites that have 1 or more days to gather legal and circumstantial data to match to precedents like a federal court.
The officer may have 1 minute, a part of a minute, or even a second or two to react or not. One chance only and it’s gone. A hostage or bystander killed, a partner killed. Or a year long court case over the perpetrator now dead.
That petite police officer in her hospital bed giving an interview (I think 2018??) said: “I didn’t fire my weapon because I was afraid I would be the next headline.” So he shot her. She was in pain in a hospital after surgery. She could have been dead from a different wound location.
Cops across the country should go on strike if the charge of murder is made in this case. I’d support them.

Unfortunately for the DA there are still grand juries and juries.
And if this cop does get convicted, no one will take a job as a cop there for a million dollars a year.
In most states, maybe all, Cops can’t strike.
