I saw a screenshot of the Breathalyzer, I believe it was .108.

He went from being born (decades ago) to being fatally shot. Oh, the humanity.

[Hands up anyone who has a gun on them who has someone aim a taser at you]

They had no idea if it was a taser. This is literally happening in seconds. He hadn’t been cuffed, and definitely hadn’t been searched. As far as they knew, he had a piece on him, stuffed down his pants or in the small of his back.

There was a time when a convict released on parole wasn’t allowed to imbibe in alcohol,

But... this is a time when felons EN MASSE were released from prison to "keep them from getting infected by the coronavirus". Do you think there was any instruction given to them or that all of them were assigned parole officers ?

I'm not saying it couldn't be done. I'm asking if it is even practical.

"I'm not saying it couldn't be done. I'm asking if it is even practical."

By law, they would have had to be given some guidelines prior to being let go, and they probably had to sign a release form attesting to those guidelines. Whatever office was in charge of their release in the various cities, counties, states, are also responsible to know where they are living, and that they are following the rules of their probation. I doubt they'd let them out without requiring them to report to someone on a regular basis. Since they require that of parolees normally, then it would be required of those let out because of the virus.

That headline is completely ridiculous.

This is why Trump calls them Fake News. This is why we all call them Fake News.

I believe that you are correct. The only thing that makes sense of all this nonsense if that it has been carefully planned and executed.
No retard, not even a democrat retard, would let criminals out of jail over this crap. It has been planned.

If you listen to either of the cops body cams, you can hear one of the cops say he has my TAZER during the struggle. That doesn't make any difference to the outcome...

Wouldn’t this ‘On Parole’ info had come up when they ran his ID ?

No question that he had, at the very least, the taser. My point is that they had no idea if he had anything else hidden on him. Since he was struggling with them, it was easier for him to reach for a cop’s holstered weapon as the cops tried to restrain him. Note that this was happening in a matter of seconds *and* at night.

This isn’t comparable to the George Floyd killing.

Irrelevant. Facts don't matter.

[They did pat him down before trying to put the cuffs on him..]

How thorough could it have been before the cuffs were applied? There’s a whole chicken-and-egg aspect to this that becomes especially high-risk when the suspect resists:

https://www.policeone.com/officer-safety/articles/search-first-or-handcuff-first-neither-wMVM27wAqO4z7CkA/

There have been a number of instances where the suspect was searched, cuffed, produced a gun and killed the arresting officer. You could say the cops involved were remiss, but they are still dead. Not all criminals are dumb. And cops don’t always encounter criminals when they are fresh and alert, at the beginning of their shift.

They pat him down around 9 minutes into the video. They try to cuff him around 29 minutes.

In the Atlanta case, the ‘payback’ will be that police will evaluate a potential DWI situation, and if the guy appears black...just let it go. So DWI’s within Atlanta over the next year or two...involving blacks....will double and triple. If you come upon an accident with a victim, and the apparent guilty party is black...you have to call immediately for back-up and ask for a minimum of ten additional officers.

The black community will eventually say that the increased DWIs by black men is a problem, and demand the police resolve this mess.

Perhaps why they were arresting him and not letting him just sleep it off or catch up with him the morning as a very small few on FR have suggested.

Terrible pat down. They asked what was in his pocket, he said cash. They said ok. Honestly, a cop should not take a persons word for it.
