Flip the Bird, a great standalone place here in Beverly MA. Great fried chicken sandwiches. This bit btw was on the Boston area restaurant review show Phantom Gourmet, whose host just had to step down
due to his online criticism of BLM etc

Of course. Mashed potatoes and sauerkraut go together like cornbread and beans! I have, years ago, made pork roast with sauerkraut and apples, but we never cared much for it. It’s wieners and sauerkraut for us. Comfort food.

Weiners and kraut works, too. Variants of that is to bake brats or (as we do) kielbasa in it. And as you said (comfort food), instead of kraut you can make a pan of au gratin or scalloped potatoes and put your weiners or other sausge on top, and bake it that way. It was what we just had the other night. I added some extra dried chopped onion and extra cheese to the potatoes, ground a little fresh pepper into them, cut a keilbasa into four pieces and buried them in the potatoes, then baked it at 375 until the potatoes were done and it was brown on top. Not only is it filling, it makes the house smell great.

“Soul Food” is just Southern poor people’s food with a fancy name.

Does this mean black folks can’t like chicken and waffles anymore?

No, just means its racist to think they do...

My favorite lunch/dinner side at Cracker Barrel!

[That’s some funny stuff.]

Only black hyper-sensitivity incorporating idea that eating chicken is somehow a mark of inferiority makes it funny. Black megalomania is getting out of hand.
