Your quest for freedom may be short-lived if things don’t go our way in November.

Well, if that happens, he will have just discovered that he left Canada in order to live in another place LIKE Canada. :)

“The most recent figures from the Department of Homeland Security show 761,901 persons from more than 200 countries from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe became naturalized U.S. citizens in 2018.”

And you know who they’re voting for.

Far too many and too many of them want to change America.

What an inspiring essay. Congratulations, Joshua! I’m so pleased and proud to have you as a fellow U.S. citizen. Welcome Home!

THAT is the major change in immigrants of today as opposed to the past IMO. They used to come to embrace America and Americanism. Now they start trying to change everything the moment the ink is dry on their paperwork. A naturalized citizen from India is leading a movement to take down a Columbus statue here, and that's just one small example.

The wonder is, that all these newly-minted citizens wanted to come here in the first place.

US citizenship is becoming sometimes more of a burden than a blessing, it would seem. Else why would so many native-born be agitating so hard to utterly obliterate all that it means to be a citizen of the Unites States? Add to that persons whose claim to be “rightful” citizens by sheer number of years they have resided here with no attempt to assimilate, and there is a large “fifth column” out there who would subjugate their territory to some foreign domination.

Welcome fellow citizen. Remember you left that frozen enclave of socialistic malfeasance for a reason. do not bring that mindset with you. we don’t put up with that kind of nonsense for long.

and lose the ice skates. the only thing we like about hockey are the fights... with the canadians.

I’m confident millions of people across the globe want a better life in America because it is an exceptional nation built on an idea that has been a beacon of hope for centuries.

************

He wants a better life and freedom but will he be willing to make personal sacrifices (e.g., serve in the military) when his country needs him? Most people want things but don't want to do what's necessary to achieve and preserve them.

The Left now tells people that America is responsible for their country being f’d up, and they should come here to get their revenge.

Profound demographic and cultural changes in this country don’t bode well for our future, even if Trump gets re-elected.

My youngest son became an American citizen last fall. I’m so proud of him!

And my youngest grandson was born on Independence Day! We’ve renamed it “new dependent’s” day in his honour. Hope you don’t mind the little joke.

“the only thing we like about hockey are the fights... with the canadians.”

Nothing like a hockey fight between the Canadiens and the Maple Leafs. Those guys are meaner than Russians on the ice!

They must be Quebeckers, come to think of it.

Anyway, this new citizen gets it, IMO. Wish there were more like that.

Nothing could ever match The Broad Street Bullies vs The Red Army Team.

Went & looked up that 1976 match. The Cold War up close and personal. It sure put the Flyers on the map.
