I find that hard to believe considering who they perennially elect to most every elected office of consequence in the state.

Or at least the predominantly liberal election officials say they do.

From a local newspaper article: "The city's obligations under the First Amendment do not require the city to provide limitless sanctuary to occupy city property, damage city and private property, obstruct the right of way, or foster dangerous conditions," Durkan stated.

Mayor, the First Amendment does not require that you give ANY sanctuary to occupy or damage property, obstruct the right away, etc. Maybe anyone running for government office, especially in a leadership position, should have to pass a test on the Constitution, at least on the Bill of Rights.

Not so fast. Ordinarily, citizens do not have a right to competent government. Witness the case of a young Black man killed by an illegal who was released from county custody even tho said illegal had an immigration hold. The case was thrown out on demurer.
