A couple of years ago I heard Bari Weiss speak and answer questions in front of an adoring audience. This was shortly after President Trump announced the US Embassy to Israel would move to Jerusalem. Weiss said that this was something she had long hoped for, but that she “did not want it to be done by him.” At that time she was being touted by the NYT as a conservative, so that they could say we have a conservative columnist. I realized that the conservative moniker was just her gimmick.

For instance, Norman Mailer was a Marxist, even called that by his former wife. Leonard Bernstein was once a member of the Communist Party and did a major fundraiser for the police-killing Black Panther Party.
I.F. Izzy Isadore Stone was a Soviet KGB paid propagandist and onetime member of the CPUSA.
Look at most of the “Hollywood 10”. Most were hardcore CPUSA members and later frontline supporters.
Wash. Post “Watergate” writer is a proud “Red Diaper” baby, meaning his parents were CPUSA hardcore members (It’s in his book).
Lots of Hollywood Liberals were really covert Party members including Zero Mostel (a great actor), Prof. Irwin Corey (CPUSA), Howard DaSilva (CPUSA, ‘1776’, the original play and film), etc. Communists, not “liberals”.
