Bingo. Rush always talks about this. If the American people paid attention to how much they pay in payroll taxes to the government, there would be more voting for Repub’s tax cuts.

People on here keep whining but until Pelosi loses the majority in the house there is nothing legislatively she will agree with Trump or Republicans to actually pass.

1. Pelosi and Dems own the House
2. Trump and Repubs must DO something NOW
3. See #1

Anyone have the latest on McCarthy’s TakeBackTheHouse status of the flipped seats?

“Social Security” is not the REAL point of the payroll tax. And that is what the President is about to expose.

The Monday to Wednesday 50% subsidy scheme has worked an economic miracle at a small fraction of the cost of Trump’s $1200 voter bribes.

To avoid long lines, I suggest 30% subsidies Monday through Wednesday and 20% the other days of the week.

Biden is proposing to do away with the income limit on FICA taxation.

A FICA tax increase will become urgent sooner as a result of the Trump scheme.

“ ...but using Executive Orders to write tax law might be the crossing of the Rubicon, taking us from a Republic to an Empire.”

See back there about 40 years ago, get up on a high point of ground and look way, way back there. That river you see way back there behind you? That was the Rubicon, you crossed it so long ago that Joe Biden can’t even remember it. This isn’t about concepts on paper any longer and high principles, you are in the midst of a communist revolution by a massive 5th column - the Democrat Party - backed financially and in other practical ways by China and Iran.

This is now about survival. By January, the law could become whatever the Party says it is at the moment.

We need federal constitutional tax caps to protect the middle class.

Tax cuts can always be undone.

Also, a permanent ban on slavery will make permanent tax caps truly permanent.

so, how do you collect two years of tax in one year? How do you start witholding AND collect the prior year tax.

again, I suspect there are some interesting details written in the law then that are still available to trump.

Isn’t this “means tested”? Not everyone would get this deferment.

People making $80,000/year should be able to get by without a payroll tax holiday.

Unless you have something to do with them making that much, I'm having trouble seeing how it's your decision to make. The people who make over $80k earn it, and are as entitled to keep more of what they earn as people who can't earn as much.

It’s essentially an interest-free loan of the tax amount. I’ll take it.

Millions of families are behind in their rent.

Putting them into IRS debt will make things worse.

3, 2, 1, RACE CARD

A payroll tax cut is racist because only people with jobs get them. Those on gubmint assistance don't pay them, nor do those selling on street corners ( whether it's sex, drugs, or stolen Nikes).

Haven't heard it yet, but you will...

Many people are doing swell.

The house on my street bought for $300000 a few years back just sold quickly for $392000. There were eight offers on it.

A finish carpenter is having a house with 14 foot ceilings built for himelf on my street.

There are many here who advocate doing away with the payroll tax deduction for the express purpose of people seeing what the actual tax bill is come January. This might encourage people to stop voting for tax and spend politicians.

One argument is that as it is today, it’s painless and you may even think you are getting a refund at tax time. It’s not a refund obviously. It’s your money.

Sadly most people would not do the proper planning so that it is painful on tax day, and would prefer to have the govt do their tax payment savings via the payroll tax.

Millions of families are behind in their rent.

Putting them into IRS debt will make things worse.

Especially since the eviction moratorium is only for those in federally subsidized housing.
