You aren’t a true eco-leftist until you’re living in a government barracks eating celery in the dark.

There’s a problem with their theory. Trump believes anyone should be entitled to the American Dream and single family housing. You have to assume minorities cannot each such income levels and financial stability to believe he’s appealing to “racial anxieties.”

He’s appealing to anyone with half a brain who looks at the urban disasters and wants safety and privacy for themselves and their families. And, news flash, that includes Americans of all walks of life. One thing you’ll see in common is renters generally don’t take care of a property like an owner. I saw this in California. Where I grew up the solidly middle class neighborhood which was always diverse deteriorated as more and more homes became rental properties and finally there were more rentals, including section 8, than owner occupied homes. It brought drugs and violence.

You can be sure that none of the neighborhoods that the NPR people live in will be affected.

amen to that. we should call it American Privilege available to all legal citizens who see how it works and do the work. Damn the liars who tell the downtrodden here that only they (big lib government) can provide for them (taking other peoples earnings from real work).

(Not legal, there is a plan for that. Always has been. Otherwise you are a foreign national until you try it.)

They can’t force us into the urban areas, (which has been their longterm goal) so they are ramping up moving the urban areas to us.
In my town EVERYONE of EVERY Race gets along.. The Marxist Leftists want to destroy that harmony.

“Sprawl” - known to most Americans as single-family homes in which they’d rather raise their kids instead of the riot-filled downtown areas under Democrat control.

Yes it’s called “Affirmatively Futhering Fair Housing”,passed by HUD under the leadership of Tom Perez as Chairman of HUD,also fully funded by the House, under the leadership of Paul Ryan when Obama was President.
After the current Census Neighborhoods will be looked at those without proper quota of minorities will be deemed racist and the Feds then take control of zoning there and single family zoning is gone and multifamily housing is ordered.
So good luck folks if Biden is elected he supports this

‘How many of us have died and how many of the american-hating Bolsheviks have turned 18, arrived by land, sea and air, or have been seething since 2016...’

I have been trying to tell people on this forum that the 2020 electorate will be significantly different from that of 2016...

So, I’m racist because I like to look at trees, have a yard and don’t want to live in a hellhole city?

Leftists want us all to be packed in like sardines, reliant on public transport (and thus at the mercy of the public sector transport union). Ideally in their world it would be like it was in Eastern Europe. Hardly any cars. No central heat and air. Radiators - the government determines when you get heat and when not. etc etc.

The more concentrated we’re forced to live, the more control over us they can exercise.

From the article:

"I think the lesson for the rest of the country is that...residents and local elected officials are still hostile to opening their communities up to housing that would bring people with diverse backgrounds and incomes," says Ethan Elkind, director of the climate program at University of California, Berkeley's law school.

If I live in a suburban neighborhood commensurate with my income and house choice, you better believe I'm going to be hostile to others who might move in and not share the same ideas I have about keeping up the value of my home and neighborhood.

In my experience, people that who have earned, saved and invested to live in a half-million dollar home treat their neighborhood and its surroundings very differently than someone making minimum wage, and living in subsidized housing.

I'm not hostile to the "diverse backgrounds," but I'm hostile to the differences in income.

And isn't this a First Amendment issue? Aren't people allowed to associate with whomever they choose?

exacerbated climate change

Yeah, well, if the lefties cared so much about "climate change" they wouldn't let looters run free in the cities while the police stand down at the orders of the lefty politicians.

That will convince folks to move as far away from the cities as they can get...

“Just part of the plot to move everyone (except for the political elites) into urban hives.”

How do the leftists move everyone to leftist hives when leftists are burning down the hives?

Just curious.

Having lived a year in a subdivision with a Home Owners Association I swore it was both times, first and last. Now we have lived in an unincorporated area of the county on a small acreage for over a decade. It is as close to heaven as you can get on earth. So of course the liberals oppose folks being happy and making their own choices.
