Give me
How to keep ‘them’ in a panic mode for 1000 Alex.
Anything to keep the pot stirred people off balance.
Believe Fauxi said Beerflu is now airborn
How can they possibly know that?
Trumps fault.
Galveston-Houston is the projected target for the one coming off of the East coast of Costa Rica.
Miss.-Alabama, the target for the one coming from the Caribbean.
Have the Murder Hornets arrived in the U.S. yet??
*sigh*
Oh great. We will be on the East side, where the tornadoes form.
The last time a hurricane hit around Houston, a tornado traveled straight through my back yard. That was an experience. The neighborhood was a mess.
It looks like 2020 is ready to strike again. At this point, nothing would surprise me.
Key word is RECORDED.
No hurricanes, but I have earthquake, in Michigan, yesterday...
Don’t be fooled Dallas gets plenty hot and humid...I grew up in the rice paddies outside Katy and have lived in the Big D for 14 years now when Big D swelters it’s still nasty but I digress nothing is as bad as August in the gulf coast. I have also spent summers in New Orleans its equally as sweltering as Houston. In both place you can almost set your watch by the 1630 convection thunderstorms that last 15minutes then blow by nearly daily in the summer time which only succeeded in making the humidity 100% without so much as cooling anything down.
Do they combine and add intensity, or do they fight and cancel each other?
What is really bad is when the hurricane runs into a cold front.
Subsequent to posting I stumbled on the term "Fujiwhara Effect" which describes the interaction between two storms. Sometimes they combine and get stronger. Sometimes they don't. Sometimes they interact somewhat like binary stars.
Wikipedia link to Fujiwhara Effect
Apparently, it can go either way.
I was aware of the tendency for them to rotate around each other, but when they cross over the path of the other, the cooler ocean temperature bleeds energy.
Did you have the reference for the effects on strength? That’s not in the referenced wiki article nor obvious from the references.
The left want another “Katrina” narrative.
At least it killed George Clooney.
Read it somewhere else on the way to Wikipedia. I could try to find it if you think it worthwhile. Synergistic strengthening won’t happen here because of the two day time separation. It won’t be like the movie “The Day After Tomorrow,” LOL.
If it is convenient, I would appreciate it. If not, it’s probably not worth the effort.
The ridiculous explosion effect is how we got thing like Sandy, where it diminished to a tropical storm, then hit a large cold front and turned into a storm stretching to Ohio from its center near NYC.
I realize this isn't a high-level academic reference. Also, if the combination occurs because one stronger storm swallows a weaker one, ho much stronger is the combination likely to be?
