Why?

It's the "deal" the Israeli government made with the Muslims after they captured Jerusalem in 1967, and with laws and policies since then. The Israeli government handed day-to-day control of the area to the Muslim Waqf religious authorities, overseen by the Jordanian government. Non-Muslims (including Jews of course) are not allowed to pray on the holy site for fear of offending Muslim worshippers.

Note: this talks of those who will come to destroy the city of Jerusalem and the sanctuary - the temple -- this HAPPENED in 70 AD

The "its end" - the end of the sanctuary - the fires burnt so hard as Josephus points out, that the rocks melted and they covered and destroyed the temple

Daniel 11 also describes this 7 year period that ALREADY occured

Why are you adding to God's word? - Daniel's prophecy ended with the destruction of the temple in 70 AD - you are inserting a gap that isn't there in Daniel's God-given vision.

12.1 clearly says "your people shall be rescued" - the extended Jewish people - the Jesus-following Jews (later to be known as Christians).

By the end of the first half it's not that 1/2 of the earth is dead - it's the death in the country of Judea

Torah law doesn’t give minute details as does the Talmud — the Torah says to keep the Sabbath holy but doesn’t elaborate, whereas the Talmud DOES — and the Halakha encapsualtes that.
