I think you pretty much nailed it right there. It is simple human nature.
I met a guy at the Turtlebay Hilton hotel in Hawaii about 22 years ago. He was a genuine former “Hitler youth”. I am a student of WWII and especially the European theater and the events that led to the rise of Hitler. We had a fascinating two hour discussion that was very positive and friendly. But the one troubling thing I took away from it was that he was STILL disappointed that Germany lost - and thinks the world would be better had they won.
IMO, Brazille will not change her position unless one of the following two things happens:
1. She finds Jesus
2. She dies.

imho, Donna Brazile is often just plain nasty and tries to dominate a conversation by non-stop talking and, literally, pointing her finger.
I, too, believe Sandra Smith is anti-Trump. Her facial expressions are giveaways. This morning, her non verbal sound at the end of her conversation with a GOP rep was also telling.
