I served for two years on the Admissions Committee of a university most people would know. Our job was to look at students “at the margin” who would not get in based on normal criteria. In my opinion, reverse discrimination was rampant at the time on this committee. I cannot count the number of times I said that we are letting someone in who cannot possibly succeed in this academic environment; that we were just taking their tuition for one semester in a dishonest fashion. Truth be told, I was wrong on several students, but right on the vast majority. Do we really help marginal students by placing them in a situation where we can be almost certain they will fail?

Unless you are rich, the only things you need to be going for in college are all STEM related. Anything else is just playtime.

We cannot just concede the humanities, language, economics, philosophy and history to the leftists.

We need to support and attend the colleges that have the true versions of these things (Hillsdale, Christendom, Thomas Aquinas College, Liberty, etc.) College is not JUST a job training program, or it shouldn't be.

Actually, it will. Plenty of employers just want to see a degree, any degree. Thomas Aquinas College only has one major, liberal arts, and its graduates go on to top shelf graduate schools in STEM fields.

My degrees in political science and economics, and I have worked inb IT all my working life. My classmates who have degrees in philosophy, English and history also have real work. Philosophy (especially Aristotelian logic) is great preparation for being a programmer.

Dr. Jordan Peterson, who took the STEM, but is well-educated in the liberal arts as well is warning the STEM people that STEM itself is starting to be well-controlled by the deconstructionists, as they are running the institutions (including the STEM departments) in many cases.

I agree that the four-year degree for credentialing should be phased out for most. I just will not accept that a true liberal arts education is not worth pursuing, and it is more than merely playtime if you take it seriously.
