Well, it's not like looking at Medusa and instantly turning to stone.

I don't think a casual turn of the head is going to matter much.

I told my neighbor that I remember the days of flying when there were smoking sections in the back of the plane. I used to turn the blower on high and point it behind me to make a wall of air to keep the smoke away. I suppose people can do that today, too, to put an air buffer between the rows.

Just briefly checking in... Thank you for this thread, Biggirl! I many not have time to post on the Rush threads every day, but I'm always listening.

If the airplanes are supposed to be flying petri dishes, they're not seeing it in crew sicknesses.

Interesting... of course these days they're actually CLEANING the formerly filthy planes now. I wonder how long that will last once COVID is completely gone.

We're still not ready to fly (and we fly fairly often). Besides all the germs, there's the huge hassle that flying is these days, plus you're forced to wear a mask on the entire flight. Then there's all the germs at the various airports, rental cars, etc.

The last flight I was on in October 2019 was pure hell. We were in San Franfreako for a family wedding.

In a nutshell: Southwest had to cancel our connecting flight between Denver and Hartford, CT. Had to switch from OAK to SFO (expensive Uber ride between the two airports).

Ended up in Chicago-Midway Airport. SW then cancelled our flight to CT. No flights available, the entire Southwest system seemed to be having 'mechanical problems' that day. Ended up spending the night sleeping in the seats at Chicago Midway.

After a LOT of hassle (and no help from Southwest employees), managed to get on a flight to Manchester, NH, as there were no flights until the next day to Hartford (but our luggage went to Hartford on a full 6:00am flight). Flight to NH was one of the most turbulent flights I ever experienced.

Once in Manchester, NH, had to spend extra $$$ to rent a car to get to Bradley Airport in CT to get our luggage, which fortunately hadn't been lost. WHAT an ordeal.

I'm staying grounded for a long time after that nightmare.
