There may be some natural immunity, but we don’t have any real measure of that at this point.
You may have seen R0 numbers all over the place, but I haven’t seen any recent study (in the past ~3 months) that puts it anywhere outside the 2.0 - 2.8 range and the CDC’s best estimate is 2.5 (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/hcp/planning-scenarios.html). The R0 does not change. Rt changes based on population responses, environmental conditions, and normal epidemiological progression.
Deaths per day is not constant. It depends on how many are infected and who is infected at any given time. Throughout this pandemic, the US has seen daily deaths anywhere from 268 to 2,748. In 1918, it was a second wave that hit the hardest in terms of fatalities. Hopefully we avoid finding out what a second wave looks like here by vaccinating enough people. Europe is currently seeing their second waves begin now. We’ll have to see what ultimately happens with Sweden, but their new cases numbers have been rising and falling. That isn’t what you see when herd immunity is reached. What you see then is Rt reduced below 1 and new cases dwindling towards zero as susceptible hosts become increasingly difficult for the virus to encounter.
My numbers match with what the published studies, the CDC, and epidemiologists around the world are saying. If you think you know better than the CDC what’s happening with an infectious disease in the US, then good for you. I’m using published scientific data and I’m stating that the situation is what it is, causes for the situation should be examined in context (e.g. Democrat governors forcing nursing homes to accept infected patients), and the path forward to the endgame clearly defined (which President Trump has done a fantastic job of articulating). Do that and none of this is scary anymore. It demonstrates that we have a solid understanding of what’s happening and that the people in charge (such as President Trump) know how to bring an end to this and are working hard to do so.

When have they ever before referred to an epidemic as a “pandemic” when it was not massively deadly to most people. The Wuhan Virus, in spite of the breadth of its infection, is NOT massively deadly to most people. It is for exactly that reason that the “Spanish Flu” and its partner viruses in what is called the “seasonal flu” is NOT called a “pandemic” in spite of its global spread to millions in all the world.

None of these were more deadly than COVID-19, except POSSIBLY the 1918 Spanish Flu, and even that’s not by a whole lot. Spanish Flu’s fatality rate was probably no worse than about 2x that of COVID-19. Nowhere near something like smallpox, where as much as 30% of victims could die.

No, but you don’t shut down the entire society over this. You continue to isolate the high risk groups and continue work on vaccines and therapeutics, but you allow the rest of society to begin to return to normal.
Then if they were true to their word they would quit calling it “Seasonal Flu” and call it the “Flu Pandemic” EVERY year. But they don’t.
If you feel comfortable getting one of those newly developed vaccines, by all means go to it and get one. Fortunately we still live in a fairly free country without being forced to be vaccinated against our will.
VACCINES QUICK WAY
ALL of the quickie COVID “vaccines” inject a live, synthetic virus programmed to invade the cells in our body ... every last one of them!
None of the current quickie COVID vaccines are really vaccines in the traditional sense of a vaccine that injects target virus fragments (antigens) that the body reacts to by making protective antibodies.
Instead, what these quickie “vaccines” really are is a giant gene therapy experiment to be conducted simultaneously on billions of people. Instead of the actual target virus fragments (antigens), what will be injected is a live, laboratory-made synthetic virus/plasmid that contains spliced-in DNA/RNA of COVID target virus fragments (antigens) so that your own body will manufacture the target virus fragments (antigens) itself when the synthetic virus/plasmid enters your cells and hijacks their protein-production machinery, with the body subsequently producing the protective COVID antibodies to the self-made COVID target virus fragments (antigens).
Heretofore, such recombinant DNA/RNA techniques first mixes the synthetic virus/plasmid into a bioreactor containing living cells where the synthetic virus/plasmid invades the cells, multiplies, hijacks the cell machinery, and produces the target virus fragments (antigens) encoded in the synthetic virus/plasmid. The manufactured target virus fragments (antigens) are then extracted and purified. These virus fragments (antigens) in turn are the only active ingredient in the vaccine when it’s injected into people being vaccinated. Subsequently, the body produces protective antibodies to develop immunity to the injected virus fragments (antigens). The Flublok influenza vaccine is manufactured this way, for example (see below).
However, the “new” gene therapy technology directly injects the synthetic virus/plasmid directly into people being “vaccinated”, skipping the bioreactor, target virus fragment reproduction, extraction, and purification steps, and instead uses the human body directly as the “bioreactor”. This is a technique heretofore never tried before, yet the plans are to try this on billions of people all at once. This gene therapy “vaccine” technology is not even really a new technology at all because it’s been around for a while, but big pharma knew that they could never get away with such gene therapy experimentation on billions of people UNTIL COVID came along and the FDA could eliminate the bulk of their previous vaccine safety requirements because COVID emergency ...

You seem to be on the same page as them. I'm on the same page as our president. You and your friends will FAIL and President Trump will win reelection. Americans will have their safe and effective vaccines. COVID-19 will be over and done with. President Trump will get to work rebuilding our economy.
Just like you I do hope that Trump wins, but I do not let it cloud my reasoning and scientific evidence speaks for itself. The articles I posted are based on sound medical evidence and someone’s wishful thinking cannot change scientific facts. Just like you, I do hope that sooner than later they come up with a properly working vaccine without any detrimental side effects, but so far what they have come up with raises enough questions regarding its safety. This family of viruses has been around for a long time and much efforts have ben expanded to find a suitable vaccine, but so far have not been successful. The problem as stated earlier is that the current process employed to come up with a suitable vaccine as quickly as possible, uses an altogether different approach which may have unexpected detrimental side effects, with some of them already shown up.
Whatever they have come up with so far may be effective against the specific virus it was designed for but it may predispose you to get even sicker or worse should you come in contact with a mutated form of the original virus what is always a very good possibility as viruses do mutate. These are facts which so far have not been overcome yet and have nothing to do with my political affiliation. As mentioned earlier if you believe you have to take this vaccine, go to it and I hope it works out for you. I still believe Trump, even with some of his faults is a Great person and our only hope. Stay healthy and well my friend and don’t let emotions cloud your thinking.
I thought the 94.something survival rate for 70 plus was not of the entire cohort but only those over 70 who were infected, is this accurate?
