First of all. The Founders thought of EVERYTHING.
The House elects the President from the top THREE candidates. So, it is certainly possible no one would get a majority.
But the Senate elects the Vice President from the top TWO candidates. With an even number of Senators, and the President of the Senate voting, a winner is guaranteed.
No more Pelosi fear porn. The new Democratic majority might not even elect her Speaker.

There is no scenario whereby Nancy Pelosi becomes President, Acting or otherwise.
If the choice of a President falls to the House (unlikely) and they tie (possible), the Senate will elect a Vice President who will act as President until the House is forced to choose.
One of the keys not discussed yet to the House electing the President is the fact that they are supposed to choose from the top THREE electoral vote getters.
Between November 3 and December 12, only ONE ELECTOR voting for someone othre than Biden or Trump could actually be putting up the next President.

Pursuant to the 12th Amendment, the House of Representatives is required to go into session immediately after the counting of the electoral votes to vote for president if no candidate for the office receives a majority of the electoral votes. In this event, the House is limited to choosing from among the three candidates who received the most electoral votes. Each state delegation votes en bloc, with each state having a single vote. A candidate is required to receive an absolute majority of state delegation votes (currently 26 votes) in order for that candidate to become the president-elect. The House continues balloting until it elects a president. As a consequence of the state delegation voting method, the party that holds the majority in the House could still lose the contingent election if the minority party holds the majority of state delegations.
The house members will object and they will have senators backing them this time around, unlike 2016 when they objected to several state’s returns. That will end the joint session and the two houses will have to adjourn and go down one of the alternative roads to selecting who will be president...enter Nancy and her plan.
