Public schools named after Alexander Graham Bell, Benjamin Franklin, and Thomas Jefferson were included in the list of names to scrub.
The committee also recommended the city rename the Key Bridge, named after Francis Scott Key; Bruce-Monroe Community Garden, named after President James Monroe; and Harrison Playground, named after President William Henry Harrison.
Have any of these people read the book ‘1984’? I would be curious about that.
