We shouldn’t name sports teams after losers. Name them the Cleveland Conquistadors.
I know a fair number of people who are descended from those indigenous to North America. About half the time they call themselves "Indian" and about half "Native".
And it is not a big deal.

Cleveland “Dobys” - Really should be the “Cleveland Doobies” and it ain’t the brothers.
Cleveland Crows - how about naming it after the singing groups, as the “Cleveland Counting Crows”, “Cleveland Black Crows” (oops, too racist), “Cleveland Dead Crows”
And I would love to have the “Cleveland Rockers” named after the truth-telling pitcher “John Rocker”, a blessed memory of honesty re his reading of society on a subway.
Or we could combine the “Rockers” and the “Crows” to make the “Cleveland Crockers”, the “Cleveland Crackpots”, or the “Cleveland Cockers”. Any one would be a good name.
I think that the Cleveland Indians is an honorable name. As the Beatles would sing, “Let It Be”.
