He can do literally anything that’s not fleeing the state for a vacation.
Well who else DO you blame but the GOP for the Texas debacle? They have been in total control of Texas politics and policy since 1995. Bush, then Perry, then Abbott. All Bushies.
Perry was happy to help T. Boone Pickens push this green windmill crap, and Abbott was Perry’s AG.
Democrats are idiots, but the Republicans have had the power to stop the green energy scam in Texas for nearly three decades. This is their baby, and unfortunately, actual conservatives will get caught in the frag pattern of this Bush league republican disaster.
Hopefully people get mad at the GOPe and not repubs in general.
RE: I’m as big as a Cruz supporter as they come. But it’s past time for the Deniers to shut up. And accept the fact that Cruz screwed up.
OK, As senator, what can he do? He can work with Congress to appropriate emergency funds for Texas I guess. But that’s going to take time.
He could be on the air constantly telling US that Resident biden is ignoring this catastrophe and the good people of Texas!
So much so that he has time to visit a FungYouFlu factory today!
But then the resident and the texas Trump hater don’t work for US they work for enriching demselves!
Senators make laws?
Maybe he should have made a law outlawing these stupid azz windmills that turned into junk in severe weather.
He did screw up and now he has to live with being Ted Cancun Cruz, somewhat like Cocaine Mitch, I guess.
What can he do? See post 5. And if he can’t figure that out all by himself, he isn’t very bright.
True. Maybe this just called people’s attention to it.
But it’s coming at a bad time for us. Cruz has always been clueless and tone-deaf, coming across as harsh and self-righteous, which explains why he’s never made it to being the GOP presidential candidate. But this was pretty spectacular, and saying that he was just being a “good dad” really rubbed it in.
Many a good dad would have loved to flee the cold with his family but didn’t have that privilege.
Why ask me? I'm not Ted Cruz. As I said, Cruz has already said what he could have/should have done. I could direct you to any number of FR threads for the answer to your question. Including this very thread.
But I figure you asked a rhetorical questiuon, so I'll leave it at that.
I think it is past time that you start putting some of that hate towards those that are actually responsible for this mess. And that is the left who pushed these policies. By the time you are all done with Cruz then his seat will ripe for the taking by one of those lefties.
Good and sensible article.
This excuse is what you hear from a lot of CruzBots here.
But they never answer why Teddy felt the need to rush back
to Texas, admit his mistake numerous times and hurry to Hannity’s show to do damage control. If he wasn’t needed in Texas, why rush back?
Why not just stay in Cancun and until Saturday(His original schedule)
and soak up the Sun and drink a couple beers.
Exactly. Send the mom and kids to Florida and stay there and act like a leader of some sort. Go the the Governor’s office and ask “what do you need me to do?”
No exaggeration, Alex Jones did more than Cruz. It’s a troll sure, but going to ERCOT headquarters and pointing a camera through the window to see the lights and heat on was priceless.
And he should have been out there in front of a frozen worthless windmill cutting the knees out from under AOC. But he didn’t, the Texas GOP is in the windmill industry’s pocket.
And that's really the point.
At a minimum, if he isn't going to "lend a hand" via one of those examples...he should have just stayed in D.C., or even just went home to TX and kept out of the news while he was dealing with his own property.
You can't get much more tone deaf than traveling to Cancun while your state is going through a once in a generation type deep freeze and millions without power and/or a means to heat their homes.
Quit a boneheaded move.
Not only that, but it gave the wanna be mob boss in Albany some breathing room from the very real political scandal of intentionally mixing the China virus with the elderly.
It’s symbolism. Be a part of the people you’re representing or not. Bailing out is bad optics.
That boy just ain’t right. This isn’t a time for republicans to throw easy slow pitches for the democrats.
If they’re saying Texans are lazy and deserve to freeze, are pretty ate up with it.
My Aunts pipes, sprinkler systems were taken care of, wrapped etc, she had supplies for a power failure but her house is flooded anyhow.
Texans have a right to put their foot up the arse of those who were supposed to ensure we had power through storms—they FAILED.
What big good did Patriot.win or Donald.win do anyhow?
Pffft! hahahaha
LOL. Cancun Cruz.
A nice post card from Teddy in Cancun.
Cruz expertise is making law and there is no lawmaking going on right now other than Biden and his pen.
