[[[The GM CEO is signaling fear and admitting that she canβt compete with the German and Japanese and especially Korean manufacturing technology]]]
GM, like Ford has thrown in the towel regarding gasoline powered sedans so now they are pinning their hopes on this magical EV vehicle that is going to save their bottom line. They are now colluding with government to mandate the change in the vehicle market whether consumers want it or not. Chrysler basically doesn’t even exist anymore.
I fear this may become a backdoor assault on American mobility. Unless there are quantum leaps in battery technology, EV’s just don’t have the driving range to allow us the real options to go where we want, when we want.
I start thinking of how cell phones started getting “better” by eliminating things. First the removable battery, then the head phones jack, now expandable memory. None of those changes were due to “market” demands - but rather decisions by a couple of major manufacturers to force us to buy phones more often, wireless earbuds, and cloud storage products.
Now it seems car manufacturers may be following suit, telling us what’s good for us - and we’ll need to move closer, shop closer, and forget about leaving the state - except on approved public mass transit.
We’ll see...
Electric vehicles are great. We can shut down the power plants and get all the energy from the magic wall outlets.
GM engineers are going to turn electric motors into 1,000 HP corvettes and 500 lbft of torque gas motor assists for Trucks that power up hills and charge going down.
I don’t trust governments or the woke politicians that think they are “running” GM, but I do trust the engineers.
Calculate the number of windmills and solar panels to charge one car for one day and require that many to be installed for each EV sold.
Shhhhhhhhhhhhh! As pedo joe recently asserted, there are some folks out in rural ‘Murica, and some inner city folks who are ‘two stoopid’ to figure stuff out. Tell ‘em we need to fix this non-existent problem and they’ll buy it. As far as requiring “FF” to manufacture just about EVERYTHING? They’ll never put 2+3 together. π²π°π¨ππ©
Especially when 600 miles travel in one day is easily done with petroleum based fuel.
If I ever get an EV a GM one would be the last on my list.
My neighbor has an electric snowblower but it’s a cord LOL.
it makes sense...plug in windmills and riding mowers...and aeroplanes
Now that Peugeot is running the show you’ll see that change very quickly:

Yeah, no.
“We have uncountable electric vehicles in current use.”
more and more golf carts I’m seeing in our community are gasoline powered...
Best site on the net to learn tne truth about “climate change” and the scams it’s spawned:
Say goodbye to GM...
It is already known that a wind turbine will create more carbon emissions to build, install, operate and retire than it will offset if operating at 100% capacity for its expected life.
I suspect the same will be found to be true on EV's. Cradle to grave cost of batteries and charging them will create more emissions than will be offset by the vehicle. EV's will relocate the carbon emissions.
The transportation sector of the US economy uses about 10 times the total output of all nuclear generation in the USA. If Iosef Stolen really wanted to save the environment he would ban friction with an EO and maybe partially repeal gravity the same way. Makes just as much sense as forcing for diners to buy electric vehicles. Also he could suspend the first and second laws of thermodynamics with an EO too.
Idiots!
