I got my first job in 1973 at 13, sweeping floors in a department store. Minimum wage was $1.60 an hour. I still remember that first paycheck. What’s weird, the only other thing I remember about that period was sweeping past the record racks and seeing the Dark Side Of the Moon album cover. It entranced me. So much I bought that album with part of my first paycheck. I still listen to it regularly. Life’s weird like that.

You know in Singapore and Dubai (and no doubt other places) the papers are full of reports of Indians not paying workers for 3 to 6 months at a time (higher caste Indians abusing lower caste Indians) and constantly abusing foreign domestic workers from Indonesia and the Philippines.
I’ve worked with a Chinese company for quite a few years and have seen the systematic removal of blacks and whites. They are replaced with Chinese nationals. So if Indians do this Chinese do it as well.
