Work and family need to be balanced. Work helps us develop and use skills that others will pay for. The income from this productive work funds the needs of our families.
The same people who told men that they were being crushed underfoot by evil capitalist oppressors were the same people who insisted that women should be allowed to have those same jobs. Doubling the work forced lowered everyone’s wages and now people feel like they can’t afford to have children.
So I guess we need to import people who won’t work anyways. Great plan everyone.

And related to that, it takes two middle class paychecks to buy a house in many areas of the country nowadays. Some moms who might prefer to be a stay at home mom, need to work so their family can afford to buy a house in a nice area with good schools.
