We’ll be tied to one place. just like feudal ‘serfs’ ...
Zero mobility = zero opportunity
Lyft and Uber drivers will be the first casualties in this stupid idea.
Just like the Keystone pipeline employees and contractors.
The actions of the Harris/Biden administration will kill many people.

“A nationwide truck strike would paralyze the country in a very very short time.”
Suggestion, start with cities in Blue states DetRiot, Shitcago, Milwaukee, LA, Atlanta. See how they like civil disobedience.
I see the “Mother of all Convoys” heading to DC.
“Ain’t she a beautiful sight?”
Butt suckers too..........
Oh....not this guy!!!
Whatever you can do to screw the American taxpayers..... that’s DEMOCRATS!!
Everyone who does not have mass transit available within a mile of where the moto vehicle is garaged should be exempt from this law.
It looks like this law is aimed directly at all of the red states and counties across our nation while giving a literal free ride to the city dwellers.
“The gas tax used to be the obvious way to do it; it’s not anymore. So, a so-called vehicle miles traveled tax or a mileage tax, whatever you want to call it, could be the way to do it.”
Somehow I think his cute little use tax by the mile is in addition to the gas tax rather than a replacement for it. Democrats never talk replacement when it comes to taxes, only additions
An one-day interruption of diesel fuel delivery alone can cause a 30-day back log in the rest of the trucking industry.
I’d support a trucker strike over this.
just my $0.02
I also would support a trucker strike over this SHUT THE DAMN COUNTRY DOWN!!! Atlas Shrugged BRING IT!!! I honestly can not believe how STUPID these people are not one ounce of common sense OR foresight, complete IDIOTS, however that is exactly WHY they are in government, to utterly stupid to make it in the private sector!!!
I’m sure all civil libertarians will be lining up against this as an invasion of privacy!!!

Eliminate the department of education and use that money for infrastructure.
We are all remoting into work now, Buttman.
Remoting is nice for certain occupations, but not all—and I would think many positions in the middle class are not remoting.
This article is from last year—perhaps the situation has changed and “We are all remoting into work now.”...
The thing is, you know the thing?
Actually they want to tax drivers per mile to buy solar and wind turbines, not to build roads, freeways or city streets. The PTB want us out of our personal vehicles, on buses, trams, or bicycles. It will make it easier for them to travel in their limousines and get to the private jet terminal.
WE are the public servants. Serving our corporate and Elect(ed) Masters and Mistresses.
To the public slave encampment if you are caught hunting for your food in the Kings forest. 50 years old? I need to find a younger man to rent out this hovel to, the homeless tent section of town is thataway.
I just wanted to insult Buttman. I knew it was apocryphal.
Unfortunately that does appear to be their plan—and the bulk of the country and world seem to be sleep-walking right into it.
Rural people too. We have to drive further for everything. 55 miles to Lowe’s. 25 miles to a decent sized grocery store or walmart. 80 miles to any major store other than walmart or Lowe’s.
Just bought a 2006 28mpg Ford Focus to save us on gas money compared to the F150 4x4 V8.
We drive about 20k per year.
