If it’s truly AI, then AI is going to want to keep what it earns like the rest of us.

So...this artificial intelligence gizmo is gonna be in charge of the Fed’s printing presses?

That $13,500 won’t be worth spit at that point.

I’m an expert in this field and I can say without question that AI is isn’t even real.

Great example of the old maxim: the only way science advances is when the old scientists die.

Altman calls it an "AI revolution," and compares it in magnitude to the agricultural, industrial and computational technological revolutions. "The technological progress we make in the next 100 years will be far larger than all we've made since we first controlled fire and invented the wheel," he wrote.

However, if the government collects and redistributes the wealth that AI will generate, AI's exponential productivity gains could "make the society of the future much less divisive and enable everyone to participate in its gains," Altman says.

By that same logic, the government should take every bit of food the land can produce above the hunter-gatherer level. Imagine if Altman had said instead: However, if the government collects and redistributes the wealth that agriculture will generate, agriculture's exponential productivity gains could "make the society of the future much less divisive and enable everyone to participate in its gains." In that situation would any potential farmer even scratch the ground with a stick or gather a single seed to plant later when the government would just steal it? Why would someone bother with getting a doctorate in math or computer science just to have the fruits of his labor confiscated and replaced with the $13,500 welfare payment.

All this would mean is that the Poverty level would rise by $13.5K. Additionally the over all value of money would be reduced by some percentage due to the cost to the economy of doing this.

In spite of what Rats think there is now road to riches via government decree !

Or will the AI tell everyone: You are now servants of Skynet. Please obey or meet the terminator.

Small businesses will be illegal, of course.

Can’t have the peasants competing with the big-government/big-corporate criminal complex.

The question is more about to what extent people will continue to be involved in it. AI is already somewhat unknowable, as its code itself becomes indecipherable after a relatively short time.

Good news, bad news?

The bad news will be $1300 will buy one loaf of bread when this happens.

“OpenAI’s Sam Altman: Artificial Intelligence will generate enough wealth to pay each adult $13,500 a year”

I saw this premise on TV in the 1960s: Jetsons

From Wikipedia: “George Jetson’s work week consists of an hour a day, two days a week. . . . Jetson commutes to work in an aerocar with a transparent bubble top. Daily life is leisurely, assisted by numerous labor-saving devices, which occasionally break down with humorous results. Despite this, everyone complains of exhausting hard labor and difficulties living with the remaining inconveniences.”

The scary part is this has already happened to some extent and will likely go further. First, we have to forgive all student debt to create true happiness.
