Communities should welcome industries and be thankful for their employment of citizens and their tax payments. Look at the typical union in a major manufacturing sector today. Invariably, you’ll find that there are something like 10-12 retirees in that union for every one that is actively working. It’s actually pathetic to see what “the labor movement” has become in the U.S.

That’s why Democrats are smart to abandon the workers in these unions. They get far more political traction by ignoring the workers and pandering to the retirees.
