Where I used to live the neighbors would burn down his house (well trailer).
They never called the police for anything.
A snake for a pet and an amulet
Breeding a dwarf but she wasn’t done yet
The block looks snake-y. Lots of places for it to hide and crawl under the houses. Someone is going to wake up to it in their beds.
Have a friend who was once a missionary in Mozambique. I remember they were in a car going to a nearby town (non-paved roads) so they travel very slowly. They ran over a snake that was in the road and later had to bail out of the car because (in her Australian accent) “a little spitting cobra was hanging out of the vent at my feet”.
I think when the wrote that law they had copperheads, timber rattlers and Pentecostals in mind. This is something else altogether.
Were someone to get bitten or sprayed by that thing, how long would it take to get the anti-venom to treat them? Where are the physicians with any experience treating this type of snakebite?
Hey, I get it: be cool, live and let live and to each his own etc. There is a catch though: you can go out on your property and piss and if a little decorum and modesty is maintained I have no problem. But if you direct your stream into my flower bed or my sandbox--especially my sandbox-- there will be a dispute.
People who keep these things under their roof are deranged and a menace to their neighbors. Wanting one to begin with should be sufficient to have a person committed. However I'd settle for a law requiring owners of such exotica ensure a sufficient supply of species specific anti-venom is kept, maintained and periodically renewed at the closest hospital and at their personal expense in the event of some mishap.
I suspect several here recall the Crocodile Hunter episode with a spitting cobra. Steve wore shades for protection and the snake spit right on them from quite a distance. Very impressive critters. Scarier in Raleigh than that Houston neighborhood with a strolling tiger a couple months back.
Nice broad paint brush you have there buddy. I’ll break mine out too. Anybody that makes idiot broad statements like that needs to be reeducated, perhaps forcefully. I mean dog food comes from living animals! And they have to be KILLED!! Oh, the huge-manatee of it all.
I do have snakes, 4 of them, all non-venomous. They are pets, great pets. They don’t bark at night, shed fur all over my clothes, pee on my floor, nor do they chew up my shoes.
Yeah, I’ve been bitten, but there is more pain and blood involved with playing with a cat.
I feed frozen-thawed, especially to my yellow water boa. His rats are XXXL. I want no chance he gets injured.
So, there ya have it. have a nice day at the reeducation camp.
Usually it’s the yutes who are spitting.
riiight making the bed covers safe for the next hot sheets rental.... heh.
there is no youtube on the piss on it neutralization, it is a folk “cure” in SE Asia from cultural traditions.
A spitting cobra is a nasty serpent.
This H1-B visa stuff has gone too far.
What, just spitting the venom American snakes won’t?
Obviously one who has no problem wearing a Covid mask 24/7.......
and people complain about gun ownership?
This is absolutely nuts.
I dont know what the attraction is with exotics. A woman had a chimp and it went crazy for whatever reason and ate half her face. But the chimp was too nice and cute right?
Then you have these morons in Florida who buy boas and pythons. And these dumb-asses turn around and let them go when they’ve had enough of them. Someone the other day caught a python that weighed well over 150 lbs I recall.
You wanna go down this road with these animals, be responsible.
I guess it’s cool to have these things. But I dont get it.
There is no purpose.
ROTFL!!
Rikki-tikki-tavi is illegal in America. A cobra isn’t ? Go figure.
Happy July 4th picnic time.
Huh. How totally “Karen” of you.
And what if — instead of an exotic snake — it had been a half dozen AR-15 variants and a couple thousand rounds of ammo?
Gonna give him Hell then, Karen?
‘Cuz that’s just SSOOO California Karen of you.
Trust, me I know; I live here.
The entire damned state is NextDoor.com
I have no problem whatsoever with anyone owning firearms and ammo...The 2nd Amendment is the protector of the Constitution...
I DO have a problem with a teenager owning several venomous snakes in a crowded subdivision unbeknownst to the other residents...
You need to read up on a subject before you go spouting off...
“Karen” my ASS!!!!!
