Bwahahah! Good one.
We have an Ollie’s here that still uses the old KMART shopping carts with the KMART logo on them.
I spent a week visiting with friends, and I was the only one with a job.
Sure, I am near retirement age, but these people were all younger than me and were not working for a variety of reasons...two were laid off, two were on disability...
It was sobering to consider this. I was the only one working full time.
Target has free TVs during riots.
It’s going to be a big problem getting people motivated to do work, especially for the lower paying jobs.
I hate to say it, but more and more there appears to be jobs that Americans really are unwilling to do.
Theft is rampant and they do not bother prosecuting the thieves for thefts under $750

So one could go into a store and steal that amount of food without fear of being prosecuted. You would need several carts to hold food worth that much. Imagine walking out of the store with that many carts. Steaks all around!
Also makes it hard on the gig workers like Instacart, Shipt, dumpling and the like. I wonder, really wonder what it could possibly be? 🤔
Target HQ are cowards.
Especially when the government PAYS them not to work.

It seems that those who play by the rules are the fools.
America — the land of the freebie.
I haven’t gone Galt yet. I guess I am close enough where I could do it without ramifications.
Yes, I am sure many people do regard me, someone who works 50-60 hours a week to pay for those who won’t work, as a fool.
Target HQ are cowards.

Wealthy cowards. Target’s rising stock price is rewarding and enriching them.
I am glad I’m retired (twice) and no longer in the workforce.
I worked hard but knocking yourself out these days seems like a waste of effort. Our system no longer rewards effort, competence, honesty, or dedication. They are relics of a country that no longer exists.
Maybe its to prevent theft because petty theft has been decriminalized in the San Fran.
Yep! And they’ve made their money on the backs of the workers. You know, those workers who know longer work?
Possibly. MY favorite local coffee and pastry shop is now closed 3 days a week. Business is great! Thats not the issue.
The problem is many of their employees don't want to come back to work. And those who are working are 60+ hours a week and worn out from no days off. Posting help wanted for entry staff has had not ONE application in 4 months. You can do better on the dole than working.
That's brilliant and yes, you should start your own woke-company consulting business. You've got them down-pat and may as well take as much money from them as you can, right?!
Yep! And they’ve made their money on the backs of the workers.

The wokers exploiting the workers.
Not only is there a shortage of folks generally to hire, but there has to be a big spike in demand now among retail in SF to hire security staff to prevent the retail theft that SF municipal government is promoting
It sure does seem that way, Starboard.
Sure does seem that way.
We were in two banks today. Short staff, long lines, long waits.
