Islands seem like a great idea at first. I know I’ve dreamed about having one. But if the SHTF, people will be stealing boats and acting like vikings. An island might start to feel like a seige prison, and that’s if you are vigilant with any defenses you were smart enough to prepare with.

I segregated myself on a luxury private 100 plus acres in the north woods.

The moslem - Barbary pirates roamed the Mediterranean Sea look for slaves to grab . Then, expanded their raping, etc. expanded to Ireland and beyond.
Being so easily accessible from the ocean by pirates may not be the best idea long-term.
When I read articles like this, I think of Simon Weisenthal.
They are totally paranoid that the people will finally realize what these totalitarians intend.
If history is any judge their guards will take over even if they do survive the planetary disaster they are creating.
And if you’re naive enough to think that this is all coming to an end as the coronavirus pandemic winds down, rest assured that there are many more ‘variants’ to be discovered and innumerable more reasons to put you back under lockdown.
Don’t worry though, because none of these restrictions will apply to Larry Page and his billionaire friends, who will remain totally isolated on their luxury private islands as the rest of the world goes to hell in a hand basket thanks to the economic warfare they declared on us.

Zuck has been grabbing Hawaiian land for a while now, using clever lawyers, apparently po’ed the locals / blocking historical trails , ocean access, etc..

A client of mine owned a house on an island in Northern Michigan. When they were gone it was constantly broken in. Mosty young kids drinking on the lake. They eventually hired someone to house sit.
He invited us to stay for a weekend. After a day or so it was boring. It took 20 minutes of boat time and then get into a car for another 20 minutes to get to the closest decent store for food.

I’d given it a go.
Introverted me could probably handle that level of isolation.
I’ve done a little house sitting.
Some guy did the same sort of thing at Ruby Ridge.
But in a way they don’t.
There is a face to face with God on their schedule, whether they know it, and like it, or not.
They will not live forever, then they can go on enjoying their eternity isolated and alone forever. But it’s not going to be a tropical paradise.
This sort of thing has been the general trend for a few years. Bit now it’s intensifying.
