10 and 2
Not buying into this.
Programming can be pretty good, but there will still be some
times when these autonomous vehicles will be contextuated.
It’s not exactly like being intoxicated, but there will continue
to be times when vehicles will be under programming
influence, and won’t be able to avoid mistakes.
A car without a steering wheel? Glad I’m old.
It'll be contingent on the autonomous driving "Johnny Cab" software, which IMHO is a pipe dream.
Currently the Austin Texas factory is doing some work to get ready for production of the Cybertruck, even as the building continues to be constructed. Shipping of the vehicle will start in 2022.
The Berlin plant just got the local Green Party yokels onboard, and all the greeniac / Luddite roadblocks appear to be vanishing at last. Production is believe to be starting in December 2021.
Vehicle range is rising. Yesterday I saw a Tesla Model 3 in the parking lot behind a local branded dealership. The charging stations have appeared at all or most of the Meijer gas stations (Meijer is a big regional chain that's widely seen in the eastern US).
The supposed formidable opponent in China, Nio, isn't really getting the job done. Teska will probably announce a gigafactory site in India before 2022, and start construction on it prior to the monsoon season which starts in June. Due to the NE "winter" monsoon, the plant will likely be located in western India (Rajasthan).
It’s an experience like no other. Tesla is a high quality product and is the best riding car I’ve ever seen experienced. The naysayers are like the old muppet critics over the stage. It reminds me when the first computers hit the market. The noise that came from the grumpy crowd was deafening and the push for paper and pencil was a majority. If the grumpy curmudgeons had their way we’d say I’ll be stuck going calculus and with an abacus.
Ok. Good luck.
The amazing thing is that your now socially quaint hybrid, like all internal combustion engine equipped vehicles, scales power production to meet demand effortlessly.
Whereas EVs simply don’t.
But as a consequence guess which one offers better opportunity to manage from on high?
So PG&$ is telling people they can’t handle the extra power requirements for EVs?
Great scene, I was laughing. Total Recall is one of my top five movies
Hybrids.
I was wondering if the fire extinguisher would be standard equipment in this model.
—”What are all those folks down in the New Orleans area doing for electricity for their electric cars?”
Without electricity, the gasoline pumps are also down.
And if you had the funds to purchase a Tesla, you probably had the foresight to get out of town.
People show up at my lot expecting a rust free mint 2500 dollar car with a full tank of gas and lifetime warranty.. (I’m in the rust belt. 2500 dollar cars come with some rust)
So at 25k I bet they’re expecting the chauffeur too
Ain't buyin' one.
—”We don’t have the electrical infrastructure in place to carry the current, much less the POWER SOURCE.”
Possibly true in California with or without EVs.
With EVs selling at 2% of the market, nothing to worry about.
Max daytime grid load is twice nighttime.
And peak loads are twice average.
Add in the diversity factor...
Not to worry, unless you believe EV sales are going to the moon any day now.
They rewired us about 8-10 years ago from the power lines to the homes and boxes and some homes got new boxes outside our homes.
Since, then there has been an huge expansion of electric cars and their charging stations, more people working at home an a lot of college students at home.
So the power demands are basically out running the supplies.
PG&E this year change their best billing time from 5 pm to after 9 pm. So basically everything is on premium rates
No steering wheel? Does it come with an AM radio?
What do these things do when you have a flat tire?
Does it come standard with an urn to collect your ashes?
