I keep thinking I should find a piece of rural property with a natural gas well on it.
One of our neighbors just made an agreement with an oil company. They’re putting one of those little pumps on their property and they get a percentage of every barrel they pull off of it.
“Are there no prisons? No workhouses?” in the immortal words of Ebenezer Scrooge, when asked for a donation for the poor, in Charles Dicken’s A CHRISTMAS CAROL.
O, how today’s jolly old England has now become a Dickens novel.
Scrooge kept the office coal locked up and denied extra coal to his clerk, Bob Cratchit, though the office was very cold.
Coal was very dear (expensive) said Scrooge.
And the dumb MOFOs shut down the last of their deep coal mines a couple years ago.
They do have a few open pit mines, but they cant keep up production.
I hope they suffer.
BTW, another strong La Nina year till next spring. History says that when that happens, the winters in Europe are brutal.
You Brits on here better spread the word. People are gonna die by freezing to death.
Hey Britain, this is what a “green” Christmas looks like. I do believe such was foretold.
No, not paranoid.
Correct.
Britains ruling parties to the people: Bah Humbug!!!
And steel. I noticed a little dig about "profitability" as if this wouldn't happen in a socialist society. It doesn't matter what economic fantasy the government is following - no fuel is no fuel. Hunger is not just a social construct. And if they think the society that is threatened is inherently racist and evil they haven't seen anything yet.
