I violated that rule once, and was lucky. The woman I intervened for was not hurt, I was not hurt, and the maniac who held her on the hood of a car while screaming in her face was left unhurt but stranded on the beach. He said he would kill me, but missed his chance. I was happy with that result.

I had to ride Philly trains and subways for several years and witnessed all sorts of strange happenings. All sorts of characters got on and off. Every rider tried not to even glance at another rider (I made that mistake once) because you never knew who was crazy.
On the other hand, once I thought our train was about to be robbed, but within minutes, I realized I’d misread the situation. Another time, I witnessed other riders’ misreading a situation. So, you learn not to trust your own eyes and ears sometimes.
My thought is that we really don’t have enough details yet to criticize the bystanders on this train. It all depends on one thing: Was the woman able to scream for help?
I mentioned above that I had SEPTA call police when I witnessed a woman being attacked on the street in broad daylight. But that woman was screaming; otherwise, I wouldn’t have noticed.
If the woman on the train was screaming, I don’t blame bystanders for not jumping in, but they could have called 911.
Did they hear “help” but were afraid to look? Were they oblivious on their cell phones and wearing headphones? Or, were the bystanders criminals themselves? Were they filming it?
Those are the questions.
PA is a shall-issue state for a CCW permit. I recommend arming yourself if you have to go into hazardous situations.

Why? So the left can defund citizens too? - And now all of a sudden they care about innocent civilians? What about all the victims of blm and antifa during the riots when police stood by and did NOTHING?
The people on the train were trained to look out for white supremacist with red MAGA hats and white cops shooting unarmed black civilians.
The training was so good that this just didn’t register.

“The right of the citizens to bear arms in defense of themselves and the State shall not be questioned.”
But the black community apparently does not want to be defended by police, and therefore presumably not by armed citizens.
I see... The news articles I read didn’t mention she was unconscious.
So, maybe the other riders walking on and off the train didn’t know she’d been rendered unconscious. They might’ve thought it was consensual. (Or maybe they didn’t care.)

If so, then the other riders might’ve assumed it was consensual and just tried to look the other way.
surveillance video shows Ngoy sit next to the victim and attempt to touch her. The woman is seen attempting to push him away several times. The video then shows Ngoy push her down, rip her clothes off and sexually assault her . . . Police said a SEPTA employee noticed something was happening and notified police, who met the train at the 69th Street Transportation Center. . . the victim went into a state of shock. The assault went on for eight minutes.
Pathetic? It’s f*cking heartbreaking. I’m beginning to believe there’s some truth to scientific studies showing significant testosterone loss in the American male.
