In the late 50s-early 60s my dad played in the minors. He knew Ed Kraneoool, who graduated from Monroe HS in daBronx a few years after my mom did, before he played for the Mets. My memory from then is fuzzy, especially since I've never been big on baseball. But it seems like it started from Mets fans having a bad habit of throwing stuff onto opponent pitchers in the bullpen, including Rocker. What made Rocker different was he called them out on it.

Basically, Mets fans did to Rocker decades before Vols fans did to Kiffin.

Get a clue. What about the steroids era? McGuire, Sosa and others. What about the pitchers using foreign substances? Why are they checking all the pitchers this year? What about the Red Sox and Yankees also getting punished? Alex Cora was the ring leader and he’s back managing Boston. Carlos Beltran brought his system from the Yankees for the Astros.
