Viola, a total shitstorm of inflationary pressures and to top it off the commies want to pass 5 additional trillion dollars in endless spending and cripple us with all kinds of legislation bent on taking the U.S.A. to it’s knees. So yeah this inflationary cycle is not “transitory”.

I watched real estate go up and down for 50 years, but always up in the long run. I’ve been selling real estate into this boom for a couple of years now, though I did buy one small piece in an area that has a great future, and I use it for recreation. It will probably go to my heirs.
Real estate requires medium term and long term thinking. I sold a piece of land a couple of years ago that I owned for over 30 years.
I sold a rental property 3 years that I only owned for 6 years but it had more than doubled in price because I bought it during the last “depression” in 2012 in that location. I sold early but that was OK. $60k to $202K in 6 years plus rental income was a spectacular deal. I did have put $12k in it to fix it up, whoope dee do.

More directly to your question, a market correction wipes out some people’s wealth while building other people’s wealth.
The secret is long term planning, not outrunning one’s ability to pay during difficult times and seeing the signs of changes and acting on them.
