And the enumerated power for this is?

Yeah, there isn’t one given Congress to appropriate money for this function.

Good example of something our tax dollars should NOT be spent on.

So the Irish woman wants to have more play money from the Americans.

How nice.

When will she defend American reporters who are cancelled by American social media thugs?

USAID is, I believe, run by the CIA.

So them funding “journalists” is really them just funding their color-revolution operatives.

Who’s going to help the journalists facing malicious prosecution for exposing the misdeeds of the US government like Julian Assange?

more:

“”As autocrats grow savvier in their attempts to control and manipulate people, we need to help support a free and fair global press to hold leaders to account,” she said.”

I would be surprised if all journalists don’t carry insurance for such instances as liable suits.

Boym talk about the democrats being socialist! This is evidence of what has being said. The democrats are talking about taking taxpayer money to protect flagrant news reporters from prosecution so that they can print whatever they want without fear of retribution. This sounds like the Soviet Union under Joseph Stalin. The democrata sure are foul!

.Gov gets to pick which “journalists” they support.

That is totalitarianism, pure and simple.

We are all "journalists."

The first amendment secures to each of us the right to a free press, that is, the right to publish. The "press" literally meant the machine, the printing press. The term "press" didn't apply to periodicals until the 1820s, and to "reporters" until the 1920s.

That said, our 1st amendment protections end at our nation's borders.

Unless of course said journalist is reporting on activities which the government doesn’t want exposed.

So if you get your peers or their swarms to sue you as a journalist you split the take.
